CARD Opens Bidding for the Chico Aquatic & Recreation Facility

The Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) is thrilled to announce that the construction bidding process for the highly anticipated CARD Aquatic & Recreation Facility is now open. This state-of-the-art facility is poised to transform aquatics and recreation in Chico, offering an unparalleled experience for residents and visitors alike.
The bidding process is a crucial step in bringing this cutting-edge facility to life. Contractors are invited to submit their bids for the project, which includes the construction of a 50-meter competition pool, a program pool, and a leisure pool featuring interactive water elements. The facility will also include essential infrastructure such as a bathhouse, locker rooms, mechanical and electrical systems, site utilities, parking areas, and exterior landscaping.
A pre-bid meeting will take place on February 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the CARD Office (545 Vallombrosa Ave, Chico, CA 95926). Attendance is recommended for all prospective bidders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and requirements.
Bidding closes on March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at which time all submitted bids will be publicly read. Bid documents, including plans and specifications, will be available starting February 18, 2025, through the Valley Contractors Exchange at vceonline.com.
The CARD Aquatic & Recreation Facility is being developed in collaboration with leading industry experts, including Confluence Architecture, Water Technologies Inc (WTI), Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture (BRS), Rolls Anderson and Rolls (RAR), and Ballard King & Associates. The facility is scheduled for a grand opening in fall 2026, ushering in a new era of recreational excellence for the Chico community.
