- The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is an integral member of the Administration Division of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD). Under the primary direction of the Finance & HR Director and with guidance from the General Manager, the HR Generalist supports and enhances the day-to-day operations of the District’s Human Resources functions. This position provides administrative and technical support across all departments, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures, supporting employee lifecycle processes, and helping foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture. Key responsibilities include benefits and compliance support, recruitment and onboarding, training coordination, performance management tracking, and maintaining accurate employee records.
After School Program
After School Program Recreation Leader

Aquatics

- CARD Swim Instructors are responsible for creating and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate swim lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels, ranging from Parent/Tot classes through advanced swimmers. Instructors design lesson plans that prioritize water safety, confidence, and skill progression while adapting instruction to meet the needs of individual swimmers. Through clear communication, positive reinforcement, and consistent structure, Swim Instructors help foster a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages lifelong enjoyment of the water and aligns with CARD’s commitment to accessible, community-centered recreation.

- CARD Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and well-being of all patrons participating in aquatics-related programs and activities. Lifeguards maintain constant surveillance of assigned aquatic areas, proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all users.

- As a CARD Summer Camp Recreation Leader, you get paid to play! We are looking for Recreation Leaders who are interested in spending a summer with the youth of Chico making fun, safe, and lasting memories. This posting is for a positions at three of our day camps in Chico. All three camps run 7:30-5:30 and shifts are half-day. Camper ages range from 4-11.
Youth Sports Summer Camp Leader
