Chico Bike Park Launches New Branding, Sparks Excitement for Upcoming Community Hub
December 16, 2024
Chico Velo, in partnership with the Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD), is thrilled to unveil the new brand identity for the highly anticipated Chico Bike Park. Set to open by the end of 2026, this future eight-acre park will be located on Humboldt Road, adjacent to Marsh Junior High School, and promises to be a premier local attraction for Butte County.
Designed for riders of all ages and skill levels, the Chico Bike Park will feature multiple off-road courses, including jumps and wooden rails. The park aims to bring the community together and provide an exciting, inclusive space for families and individuals alike.
Whitney Garcia, co-manager of Chico Velo, shared her enthusiasm for the project, stating, "The Chico Bike Park is more than just a place to ride—it’s a space for families to connect, play, and create lasting memories together. We’re proud to help bring a project to life that is truly for the community and inspired by Chico’s vibrant outdoor culture."
The new brand identity, created by local designer and creative director Drew Little (of Drew Little Design) draws inspiration from Chico’s natural beauty, incorporating elements like California poppies and Big Chico Creek. Little reflected on his design, saying, "Our vision was to create a visual identity rooted in the connection between Chico riders and the incredible local landscape that has inspired people of all generations (myself included) to start mountain biking. We hope the Chico Bike Park will do the same. As an avid local rider, it’s been a huge honor to contribute to this amazing community project.”
CARD will eventually oversee the park’s operations, ensuring it remains a beloved community gem. In the meantime, Chico Velo and CARD are working together to keep the community informed and engaged throughout the park’s development.
