The Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD) is thrilled to announce the grand re-opening of the Chico Community Observatory under CARD's new management. This exciting event will take place on Friday, September 20th, from 7 PM to 10 PM at 1 Observatory Way, near Horseshoe Lake.

Join us for a stellar evening filled with stargazing, fun, and a special appearance by your favorite Star Wars characters. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best costumes for a night of cosmic adventure and photo opportunities with beloved characters from a galaxy far, far away.

"We are incredibly excited to take over the operations of the Chico Community Observatory," said Annabel Grimm, CARD’s General Manager. "This is a fantastic opportunity to create new programs and expand our current offerings, such as our popular Night Hikes. We can't wait to see the community come together to celebrate this new chapter for the Observatory."

Please note that parking at the Observatory is limited. Additional parking is available along Upper Park Road and by Horseshoe Lake. We encourage attendees to carpool or use alternative transportation to make the most of this special event.

Don't miss this chance to explore the wonders of the universe with CARD at the newly re-opened Chico Community Observatory. We look forward to seeing you there!
