A Summer to Remember
Each year, hundreds of Chico families turn to CARD for a summer filled with adventure, learning, and lifelong memories. With 100+ exciting camp options, kids of all ages can explore their interests, make new friends, and enjoy hands-on experiences led by passionate and experienced instructors. Whether your child dreams of outdoor exploration, sports, science experiments, creative arts, or simply having fun in the sun, there’s a camp for everyone!

“CARD summer camps are a staple of childhood in Chico—families come back year after year because of the lifelong memories, friendships, and skills their kids gain,” said Kayla Jansen, Recreation Supervisor for Camps. “Our team is beyond excited to welcome campers back for another incredible summer filled with adventure, learning, and fun!”
Featured Camps:
- Camp Chi-Da-Ca – Since 1951, this classic camp has been bringing the magic of summer to Chico kids. Held at Hooker Oak Park, campers enjoy songs, skits, nature hikes, games, and refreshing dips in Big Chico Creek.
- Sports Camp – Designed for young athletes looking to hone their skills, try new sports, and embrace a lifelong love of the game.
- Camp Chico Creek – Hosted at the Chico Creek Nature Center, this nature-based camp includes hands-on science labs, animal encounters, tree fort building, arts and crafts, and Friday BBQs.
- Summertime Delight – Perfect for kids who love a mix of indoor and outdoor fun, including games, swimming, sports, crafts, field trips, and weekly kids’ clubs.
- CARD Swim Lessons – Learning to swim is a vital skill, and CARD offers a variety of lessons at PV Pool for all ages in a safe, supportive environment.

Making Summer Accessible for All:
CARD is committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate. Financial assistance is available through the Jan Sneed Youth Scholarship Program for qualifying families. Additionally, CARD’s Inclusion Team provides one-on-one aides for children who need extra support to be successful in camp.
