Nature Center After School Program

This outdoor based after school program runs on the Chico Unified schedule. In addition to science, crafts, and games, children have the opportunity to go on nature walks, swim in Big Chico Creek, build tree forts, attend live animal presentations, and grow connections with their peers and nature. We hope to see you there!

Parkview Pick Up-  If your child attends Parkview, our staff will pick them up and walk them to the Nature Center.

Location: Chico Creek Nature Center (1968 E 8th St, Chico)

Grades: TK-1st Grades 

Times: 2:30-6:00pm- The program runs on Chico Unified elementary school days from 2:30-6:00pm. If your child attends Parkview, we will pick them up from school at the time they are released. Transportation from schools other than Parkview is currently not provided.

Fees: The fee for the 2024/25 school year is $3,412.50. Billing is on a month to month basis and monthly fees vary based on the number of program days. (Monthly fee is calculated at $19.50 per day.)

Attendance: There are no attendance requirements. Your child may attend days/hours as needed. CARD does not pro-rate for days unattended.

• 2024/25 School Year: Add to the waiting list today! As spaces come available, we will contact families from the waiting list to offer enrollment.
• 2025/26 School Year: Families who were enrolled in the program for the 2024/25 school year have priority to reenroll in May. We will start enrolling new families from the waiting list in June for the open spots.
